My first plan was to take 2 yards of fabric for each girl and simply make togas by tying and roping them around the bodies.Instead, i decide to get a little creative and pulled out my scissors and sewing machine. like the title says, im not designer. but making a dress is like math...addition and subtraction- and maybe a bit ofgeometry lol-
Demeter: Goddess of Earth-agriculture
This dress was made by doubling up fabric for the bottom skirt, then creating a bra like top and attaching the whole thing on the back with green fabric. the front tail of the dress also has green fabric added to add a nice touch when the wind blows.
the model: Percia Bello
Then we Have Hera-the goddess of Marriage and Love- wife of Zeus. Onni -the model, did such a great job getting into character for this look.
The skirt of this dress was made the same as the dress above, with the opening tail in the back and lilac fabric to add depth when the wind blows. The top of the dress was a bit different. I added
to pieces of fabric to the center front and brought them towards the back- looped them and tucked them into the back of the skirt for hold. A sashed belt was added to bring the look together.
The last dress was for Hestia-Goddess of fire. The model- Anabeth Hernandez- wore a fitted white simple dress i made with an elastic top to pretty much fit anyone (her size). Then the dress was topped over with a light sheer piece of fabric sewn at the top and attached with a bright red long fabric to resemble a cape and a white sheer fabric over to add depth in the wind. The whole look was topped off with my mothers awesome vintage belt that always gets compliments! this was one of my favorite dresses because Hestia was so ready for battle. If she wasnt the goddess of fire, she'd be Nike- goddess of war!
I wont say what this is all for... theres only so much you can post online before someone takes your idea.. just stay tuned ;)
